As part of a kitchen remodel, this cabinet was built in place of a bar that originally extended up over the counter and sink. It made more sense to rebuild the counter so that it was flat across, enabling the end counter to function as a large island. I built it as a small bookcase and trimmed it out with beadboard panels. It was then primed and painted with an oil-base enamel. The counter was replaced with Uba Tuba black granite and a new sink faucet fixture was installed along with an air-powered disposal button.
