I tiled this tub surround in our smaller bathroom. I am a firm believer in Schluter products so underneath the tile is a Kerdi membrane for waterproofing. This membrane is important for helping the tile and grout dry quickly after use, keeping mold and mildew at bay. Schluter Ditra was installed under the floor tile. I also installed a water-proof niche from Noble products, which works nicely with the Kerdi membrane.
